Smellcome to Manhood

After 75 years, Old Spice continues to keep its competitors on their toes. Not only are their scents relevant for the modern man, now the technology infused in them allows for a greater return on investment, both in the monetary value of the purchase and the attention received because of your smell.

I admit, in the past, I have been one of those men who obnoxiously sprays on fragrances. If I didn’t see a cloud, my thoughts were that I didn’t put on enough. Old Spice’s new Re-fresh line has changed that completely. I have finally stepped into a mature smelling manhood.

Last month, in celebration of Black achievement and History, my school threw a Black and Gold party. It was my first opportunity to use the new Old Spice line and it worked beautifully. As I was simply wearing a different variation of what everybody else was wearing (black and gold, ha) I knew that the attention I was receiving from people I knew (and didn’t) was coming from my new smell… and it wasn’t just limited to the start of the night. After 3 hours of dancing and jumping around the venue, I smelled just as good as when I walked into the building.

Now, a month has gone by and I use BEARGLOVE (a scent as fierce as a grizzly bear) consistently. The reactions when I walk into a room are just as great and even better? I still haven’t had to buy a new bottle. In fact, the bottle is more than half full; thanks to the fact that one spray really, truly lasts all day.

I’ve been following the three steps detailed in the video above; grabbing my favorite Re-Fresh scent, giving myself a two second ‘scent-stripe’ across my chest, and then going out and facing the world with confidence.

Old Spice has been generous enough to offer a Smellcome to Manhood toolkit for one lucky reader! I personally received one as an influencer and it has changed the way I look at manliness. Look out for that giveaway post in the next few days!

  1. I think that smelling good is very important for any man and Old Spice has some great smelling products. I just recently got their body wash for my husband and he really likes how it lathers up and how great it smells.

  2. LOVE this post, Karl! Totally agree–one reason I fell head over heels for my hubby at the age of 18! He smelled DELICIOUS and still does!!! He knows just the amount to put on and I LOVE IT!!!!!
